Upstate is an outstanding “neighborhood restaurant” in the East Village, with friendly service, rotating local beers on tap, and a phenomenal oyster list. Ask any of the servers for their opinion, and they will be more than happy to share their opinion, offer a sample, or just chat. New outdoor seating makes for an excellent date or group experience. Fettuccine with clams is one of the best dishes in Manhattan.
